Agency Update - Winter 2018

1 March 2018, 10:45a

I would like to highlight a partnership and enhanced service in Linn and Benton Counties.  In August 2016, Samaritan Health Services opened Sarah’s Place, a regional sexual assault nurse examiner center created to provide a safe place for survivors to receive resources and care at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.  This is a one of a kind center in Oregon and sets an excellent standard for care.  Sarah’s Place adds a confidential, safe space for

vulnerable, traumatized survivors to access medical care from specially trained nurses 24/7.  Over the last year that Sarah’s Place has been open, CARDV Advocates have provided services to survivors seeking services at an increased rate.  Partnerships like this one are an example of how changes can be made in the community to provide better services for survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
